Week 9 - Fancy Feast and Trick or Treat

Alright ... week 9. Halloween week. Well we started the week with a much anticipated "Fancy Dinner" The two older kids were very excited about this. We got the placemats, the fine china, the napkin rings. And I think we had spaghetti and fruit punch. This idea had been brewing for a a couple days already. Violet had planed the whole thing out. We even got dressed up for the occasion.

I know it was a little early but we were already thinking past Halloween and Thanksgiving and doing some test shorts for Christmas. Picking out clothes that matched each other. Getting the kids to sit still together, finding the right background. The kids did incredibly well. And while we didn't go with this style of shot for our Christmas cards, it did make a nice snapshot to share with everyone via Facebook.

And finally it was Halloween ... this year the church had their Trunk or Treat (held in the parking lot, the children receive candy out of the back of cars) at the church building. Happy times. The kids got to go around and get candy from the church people. Most people decorated their cars in a scary fashion, why there is no decorating contest is beyond me.

Emily took the kids to Nana's (Emily's mom) work, were they got to visit and get candy from all the various government departments. We also went around the neighborhood in search of treats. But that was very short lived as we also wanted to visit Grandparents and Pre-school teachers.
